Students from the University of Cologne once again present their software solutions prepared during the LCD course.
19th of July, for the second time, Sollers Consulting had a pleasure to welcome in Warsaw students of the economic computer science at the University of Cologne. It was an opportunity to get acquainted with their final projects prepared during LCD course (Laboratory Course on Development), where Sollers Consulting was involved as a practice partner.
Based on a case study, that gave the students an insight into Sollers’ Consulting needs, each team created a software solution dedicated to our company. The goal of the project was to enable our office administration team to manage working places in a faster and more effective way. However, not just our office administration team shall benefit from this solution. It will also help our consultants and developers, who e.g. are working four days a week at the customer’s office and on Fridays would like to spend their time working together in Sollers office.
Due to the rapid growth of Sollers Consulting, the students had an opportunity to develop the application, that is a great need for Sollers. Main focus in the project was RWD (Responsive Web Design) approach, since the application mostly will be used on mobile devices. Project groups have received detailed feedback of the end-users and IT professionals of Sollers Consulting.
After the presentation, there was a little bit of time for relaxing at a joint lunch. In order to show the students the city, we offered them unique opportunity to visit all attractions of Warsaw in a traditional “Ogórek” (Cucumber) Jelcz bus.
We enjoyed the time with the creative students very much and we are very pleased with the created applications. The tool will surely optimize our office life.
We are already looking forward to the next LCD course!
